In need of advice on purchasing a new laptop

Well, I love my baby that I'm using right now but I fear it's time is coming soon. That, and the fact my interests have changed and this cannot handle the tasks I want (i want to do some serious 3D modeling and just to play heavy games in general). So i started off looking at Asus laptops but that price hurt lol then a friend told me try Alienware then we got into a debate over that, went ahead anyway and for what I want,lowest I could get out of Alienware was around $1000(which id like to keep as my max). I know some Asus laptops have a closer range but they all seem a little too high. Now i looked at reviews on the laptop i was considering buying and certain things just arent worth it,so im back to square one. I need you guys help on a good/decent(hopefully affordable) Laptop that can handle the heavy stuff. Any recommendations?

I'm not quite sure. I only use a desktop computer, so Laptops aren't mainly what I would talk about.
