AriWerd Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I click 'run current project' in Fighter Factory 3 and get the following error: Error message: Can't load redranger.sff Error loading chars/ff3_0/ff3_0.def Error loading p1 Can anyone help me out? I'm absolutely new to the program. Thanks, -AW
0 Galvatron Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 did You set up FF3 ' options' to run your project in Mugen.exe that could be the problem. :-P MARVEL VS. TOUHOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
0 AriWerd Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Yes. If mugen.exe is not set up to run the project, the error is something like "You need to configure a MUGEN first." I've done some more research and I think that, mugen is unable to read the sprite folder. But I've converted my sprites from .png to .bpm and made sure they're indexed to 256 colors, and it's still not working. I'm either not understanding the problem or am missing something to do with the .sff file. Thanks, -AW
0 Galvatron Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Hmm. did you name the Def. file RedRanger? also are you working on a character? because the problem could be how you set your def. file Normally your Def. file should read like this: ..[Example]... [info] name="Shinku" displayname="Shinku" versiondate=7/10/2014 mugenversion=1.0 author="Noob" pal.defaults=1,2,3,4 [Files] sprite=shinku.sff sound=shinku.snd anim=shinku.air cmd=shinku.cmd cns=shinku.cns st=shinku.cns stcommon=common1.cns pal1=shinku1.act pal2=shinku2.act pal3=shinku3.act As you know when you open a character in FF3 (FF classic, FFU) the DEF. file is like a map of the characters data and you have to make sure all the files are in one folder so when you open FF it can read all the files to get the charater function in the program its self and in mugen exe for testing. 0 AriWerd Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 I am working on creating a character, yes. I never did figure out what was wrong. Instead, I deleted the whole thing and started again. Now it works. *sigh* Thank you for your help, -AW

0 Ryon Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 A word of advice. DO NOT USE BMP. USE PNG. Bit Map images, can do 256 color, but they have this issue where you have 0 control of your palette. You can view it once and it will show up, then you can try again and it may not show up at all. Use PNG, because it will keep your pallete, and will stay indexed. - Characters - / - Stages - / - Screenpacks - / - Lifebars - / - Fonts - / - Full Games - / - Templates -
0 AriWerd Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks for the advice. Also, I'm using your Shelly videos as my guideline for how to build a character. They're very helpful and made me think I might actually be able to build a few simple characters. -AW
0 Sansfinnish Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 i have da same problem... but it's now "cns" file. what that means, and how i gonna fix it? EDIT: i fixed the "cns", but now i have "cmd" problem. Plus, these others: Error loading chars/ff3_0/ff3_0.def Error loading p1 What does those mean, and what is "Error loading p1"? I check everything. is it because, there is a typo or something?
