I know Sonic but not his entire cast of characters, is this Chaos is an alien? He look kinda non-normal version of Sonic type.

Chaos is an immortal and ageless god-like creature seemingly made out of water while it is actually made out of Chaos Matter. It has been locked up in the Master Emerald for thousands of years and it serves as the original guardian of the Chaos Emeralds, Master Emerald and Chao before Knuckles got assigned that role.
