  1. I thought that RE5 was an amazing game, and amazing demo, when I first tried it. And Sweetfire13, that's the best thing I have read online in a while, nice Big Lebowski btw. I am only disappointed with 3 things.

    1. How MvC2 has more characters then both MvC3 and UMvC3 (I'm not much for 3d, but still the MvC3 games were great)

    2. Mega Man Legends 3

    3. Phoenix Wright games that we don't have. PW vs Professor Layton and Miles Edgeworth investigations 2

Other then that, Capcom is doing great.

Most of MvC2's roster were copypasta sprites given gameplay to fit with the game, MvC2 was also a very unbalanced fighting game.

Yeah, the issue with MML3 does suck, but its over a year old now and people really need to get over it. That and the whole battle network game not being localized really needs to stop.

You do realize that Professor Layton vs. Ace Attourney is getting a European and North American release this upcoming year, right?

Concerning Edgeworth 2: There's still talk and support for localizing it for the West, but it really depends on how the upcoming Ace Attorney 5 is going to sell. If it is localized, it'll probably be available on the Nintendo Shop for digital download or ported to the 3DS with new graphics.

  2. My opinion is that they've done fine, In fact all they've really done wrong was really pander to a wider audience (and of course on disk DLC). Street Fighter IV and it's iterations were great, I have no idea why you would exclude SFIV. Also Resident Evil 5 was a great game and an even better Co-op game, although I can't speak much for Resident Evil 6(see: pandering). Considering making Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 a stand alone game: Does it really matter? 12 new characters were added, new stages, a better way to get newcommers into the Fighting game genre, and they also fixed a lot of issues that was in MvC3. And do we honestly need another edition of Street Fighter IV? There's 39 playable characters as we speak, not including the Alpha Series, it's has the largest roster out of any Street Fighter game, and it's updated regularly for balance patches, so they're not shitting on the Street Fighter IP at all. Concerning Mega Man: I will never cease to hear the end of this. When will people understand that Bad Box Art Mega Man in SFxT (which isn't a stupid name, btw) is a joke? I guarantee that the reason for picking Bad Art Mega Man was purely for novelty reasons, not to shit on the fans. Capcom announced that they have big plans in store for the Mega Man franchise since they are celebrating Mega Man's 25th anniversary in 2013. Honestly there is a lot of people who I believe really needs to take off the rose-tinted goggles and not nit-pick about the really minor stuff. To sum it up:

My opinion is that Capcom needs to develop more IPs instead of relying on the old ones. Even then, those titles will probably receive some form of backlash, no matter how good it is.
  3. Rare characters are usually the really shit ones that died out and no one cared or bothered to put back up on a different file sharing website. Of course things like when infoseek crashed and everything mugen related on there was erased from the internet will happen, but it's not hard to find or ask where to find those characters that were lost. Private characters are pretty pointless imo, there's no real reason to have them other than to show off your e-peen.

  4. Like I said on my status update: blpysakum(dot)2waky(dot)com/ Is there any way for the staff to source this back to it's origins (probably a member or a link to a character) so this whole thing will blow over?

  5. hmmmmm i never had any slowdown issues or screeching sound when i played. i'm using windows xp, so could there be an issue on it playing on vista and or 8?? and the back tracking thing is usually for ladder parts only , but i found it strange that i was able to do it on dhalsim's stage at the start. but hey no need to nitpick lol. i had fun with this and will jump on when i get back home from work. this is for the fans and old fogeys like myself who had to put air and wiggle game cartridges to make them work lol

Yeah, The screeching sound was a me problem, no problems since I updated my sound driver.

Also, I'm using Windows 7, but it still doesn't explain Mine and the others complaints for the fps dips.

And what's with the wiggling? All I ever heard of anyone doing is blowing to clean out the dirt and dust, even from the people who played in the NES era. Unless it's some old who-ha that people who owned Atari 2600s.

  6. The Game has some flaws.

Really weird framerate issues, and some issues within the gameplay.

My biggest peeve about this game is that you cannot go back screens, for instance, In Chun-Li's stage I saw I missed the opportunity to get an E-tank when I went forward a screen. Anybody playing would expect "Oh, I could just go back a screen and do some platforming to get it". But nah, your screen locked, forcing you to go forward and beat the level.

Frame rate is a bother as well. The Classic Mega Man games on the NES move at a consistent rate of 30 fps, while this game seems to like to dip down to 25 or lower at times and I doubt that a 33 MB game could be that graphically intensive for really any computer.

Also I have some sound issues, where occasionally my speakers would just screech at me, and the times where the stage music will only play bits and pieces, but that could be a me thing since I'm sure my sound card drivers needs some updating.

Also between you and me, the portraits for the select screens are pretty ugly.

I forgot to add that there's some weird deadzone issues with the control pad which uses the analog stick instead of the D-pad, which is really apparent on the select screen trying to pick somebody's stage.

Don't get me wrong, It's a great game, it's just that I believe it could be presented way better.

  7. As one of the few people who actually was not angry at Capcom for Bad Box-Art Megaman, I think it's nice to see that Capcom is backing this project up. I guess they do still have love for Megaman. ...Unless they only care about the Street Fighter aspect of it.

I still don't understand people's mentality when they think that Capcom wants to get rid of Megaman.

  8. Around christmas if a had to guess

Is this going to be release candidate? I've heard that 1.1 is far more stable than 1.0 when it was released.

I'm more interested in one thing though, are there any complaints any of you guys have against 1.1?

  9. ...Yog-Sothoth? I'm not sure I see it.

    ShumaGorath

    SheoGorath

    Yogsothoth

    ...

Word arrangement is a wonderful thing, my friend. Again this is highly hypothetical, because I really doubt that Shuma-Gorath and Sheogorath have anything in common. And actually, Shuma-Gorath was in fact inspired by another one of Lovecraft's abominations Shub-Niggurath(my bad). I guess Shub-Niggurath would be a more plausible link, but still it would be coincidental.

  10. Speaking of Elder Scrolls, I have been having this random idea in mind. What would happen if Sheogorath met Shuma Gorath? I don't know, but the two names always sounded way too similar to me to be a coincidence. Kind of like Ragnar Bloodaxe and Ragna the Bloodedge, two completely different characters with similar names.

It's more than likely that both the character's names are derived from H.P. Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth.

So in a sense it's hypothetically a coincidence, since that's really the only thing that's a plausible link to both of them.

At least Ragnar Bloodaxe and Ragna the Bloodedge were both in fighting games.

  11. Well he looks like other old-fags fanboys of white-haired dante. Some people just cannot give the game a chance because it's not the old DMC anymore but something other, something new.

He gave the game an honest critical review addressing the mechanics and overall look and feel of it, and he said it was a good game, just not a good DMC game. And the only thing he really said about the new Dante design is it being really uninspired and personality-wise being generally unlikable.

  12. Guy's input on the game's demo on a website I frequent:

It looks alright in that the environments are nicely stylized, but even that is inferior to the original DMC series' grand gothic clean-cut environments.

Gameplay was dull. They tried too keep a few things in from the old ways, but managed to make them worse and too obnoxious, such as flashing weapons and long pauses for combo chains with pauses to alternate the moves.

The new weapon system is absolutely rubbish, as are the weapons themselves. They added a launch button which will help casuals, but it means that the style commands are completely gone, which is a complete waste.

No lock on isn't as terrible as I had imagined, but it does have a knock-on effect on the controls and gameplay. It makes gameplay less intricate and more casualised, while also meaning that touble tap (forward, forward y, for example) is more prominent, which is stupid in my opinions. Don't get me started on dialogue cut scenes and such, please. (horrible)

Basically, if it had been an original IP, it would have been an OK game but by using the DMC title they've put it besides a series of vastly superior games. Rent it, do not buy it, and hope they try a new formula, if not return to the old one.

With regards to Frame rate and enemy count, it becomes obvious to those experienced with the old games. it's slow, and there are never more than 5 enemies at once. It seems dull really.

The boss was pathetically easy. There were two attack animations and 2 projectiles. These could be avoided simply by jumping or changing platforms. The damage output of the player is insane, where as he takes very little damage. The whole demo was horribly easy, even after unlocking son of Sparda mode. It is reminiscent of unlocking easy on the old games. Even after fights you could simply attack a slug-type object on the wall and recover all your health from green orbs.

Enemy design is alright for the basic enemies, but the heavy/flying/chainsaw enemy design was poor, uninspired and were too easy to defeat. They signaled their attacks in painfully obvious ways, allowing as much as 3 seconds or more for you to press the designated 'dodge' button. Escaping enemies is also easy as you can grapple around, double jump and fly right from the start. Double jump had to be earned in the old games, and rightfully so.

Boss design was as bad as the normal enemy design, and the dialogue made me face/palm.

Dante's new design has improved since his original emo/druggy look, but is still lame and uninteresting, let down further by his character, facial animations and terrible one liners.

Somehow the old Dante's lines were cheesy but witty and just fun. the new Dante lacks any kind of soul or likability.

  13. I use Microsoft Security Essentials, along with Bit Defender and Spyware Blaster. Never ran into a problem. I used to use Avast, but it got tiresome real quick with with its several false positives and ridiculous amounts of time it takes to scan a hard drive.

  14. Hmm... this one might help too but.. reviews huh? What I don't like about reviews are at most times, it tends to be biased.

One thing is to stay away from IGN reviews. They can't review a game worth anything, and are known to be paid to give good reviews. There's plenty of other review sites and videos out there to check out.
