Hey there, I used to have the exact same problem, and I think I finally figured it out! So the game (and probably OBS as well) use a lot of CPU/memory on a computer, and at least for me, when it reaches the max of my CPU my entire laptop crashes for about five minutes before force-closing the game to run properly again. My solution has been to keep as few extra windows open as possible (windows like media players, image viewers, and Microsoft Word were okay for me). But make sure that any windows that use a lot of CPU are not open while recording, ESPECIALLY web browsers, because even just one web browser takes up a big chunk of my CPU. Hope this helps ^^
