I am going to attempt to host M.U.G.E.N. tourneys every weekend-- certain info needs to be known for anyone who is willing to help me out by participating! FIRST TDLR if you don't care about the deets too much and want to play regardless: -Monetary rewards for 1st-3rd place (Donations not necessary but open) -Take place mostly every weekend at a specific time (Most info for dates and time will be through a discord I link at the end) -Spectated fights (No online or controlled play, strictly spectating) -Characters are randomly rolled with a slight bit of RNG, but you still get to technically choose your character -Tournament brackets will be held through the Challonge.com website -Please tell people about it so we can have more fun! Now longer explanations for those of you who are interested in the details TIME AND DATES I will host these tournaments every Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. If I cannot then I will let everyone know promptly if I am too busy or have something going on. This means every weekend is not technically promised so I hope that is okay for the time being until I can work something else out. Sometimes there may be multiple a weekend, other times there may only be one. It just depends on how much time I have on my hands and if the people participating are eager enough. MONEY Now I know most of you probably are going to perk up at this, and it's just a small incentive for people to want to really get something out of their wins. For each tournament 1st-3rd place winners will be payed at the end of the tournament electronically. This means you need to have some sort of way to receive this money. Zelle, Cashapp, Venmo, or even something silly like ordering you take out with a money limit are viable for me. Anything else is probably off of the table. The amounts aren't thrilling, I'll be honest-- sorry if that disappoints. But it is all funded by me unless people want to donate for the tournaments. 1st will receive 15 to 20 dollars, 2nd will receive 8 to 10 dollars, 3rd will receive 5 dollars flat. Like I said, not anything astounding...but if we build a community we could definitely raise those stakes. FIGHTS All the M.U.G.E.N. fights will be spectator only-- no controlling or online play. So if that is what you were looking for then I'm sorry to disappoint. The why Online or control play is not as interesting to me, and also is leads more difficult especially if multiple individuals get involved. Not only that, but spectating is what really makes the fun...fun. At least to me. This will never change. More info The fights will be streamed in the discord everytime a tournament is ready to be had. I host all the fights from my own builds of characters, fights will follow a specific schedule as listed on the brackets online...which leads into the next point. TOURNAMENT RULES Tournament brackets will be how you see your listing and if you won or lost a fight. Through challonge.com all players names and fighters will be listed with scores! If you do enter into a tournament, please show up and be present for the fights, I'd hate for the tournaments to be treated as some sort of side hustle or passive casino game. I'd like everyone to enjoy themselves and be in the moment, and you can't have that if no one participates! WHAT IS THE POINT? Some of you might ask why I even spent time to pitch this idea, set all of this up, or put time into it at all to begin with. Back around 2019 I fell in love with the game of M.U.G.E.N. through the name of a youtuber called AfroSenju, the game took my heart instantly and became one of the reasons I ever got a PC in the first place. The love and admiration I have for this game even up to now is something I want others to experience as well, in a community that can be centered around giving it a fun and specific purpose. Not to say M.U.G.E.N. isn't active at all, but most of you probably know it is not as prominent as it was even 10 years ago. If there's any way my ideas can reach others and spark a new wave of more people enjoying M.U.G.E.N. at the same time again, and revive this game and community again, then I'd love to do it. This game is amazing, and deserves to be generational for as long as it can be! Does anyone know how to make characters build more bar upon getting hit, it'd help a lot! Thanks.
