What should do when I add a character with a sub folder (a folder inside a folder)?

When ever I download a character with a sub folder, I copy and past the files and delete the sub folder and that character won't appear. Can someone help me?

Just put the stuff from the subfolder in the main character's folder and change the def. file.

I did the former, but which .def file? The character's?

If there's subfolders in the def file like pal1=  act/kudoi04.act, remove the slash and extra name, pal1 = kudoi04.act.

If you're trying to delete a subfolder, extract all the files from there, put them in the character's main folder and add them to the character's def file.

If the character's def is a txt file you should be able to save it as a def if you change the line from txt to def.
