I personally view him as a spriteswap of a God Orochi edit. And yeah, I suppose you could say this is a god version and Xibalba a devil/demon version.

Kukulkan is essentially God Orochi.

Xibabla is essentially ONI-MIKO.

 

I'd say try it the other way around.
