So today after visiting that site and after years of being on it.. banned. For having a somewhat mature login-name they CENSOR the cussword part out of anyway! And it wasnt a preferential-thing over this site or something - The personal goal was and is to see, Collect and compile an extensive mugen collection, Wherever and whenever any of it was available. The login name was obviously done in a humorous way and not in a mean one but god - what fragile PRETENTIOUS losers they are! And i say all this not just because of something so tremendously douchy like what they did there But also:

 

- Countless stupid ''security'' checks - Before entering their website where these loons over there FORCE everyone to click on pile after pile of pictures of bicycles, Planes and cars - Over, And over and over AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! @ D Why cant it be something easier?! THAT is some sadistic bullshit.Theres not many places ive seen this done at to this degree, Yet they act like mugen arcrap dot com is the black marbled entrance to the UN assembly building or something! They arent area-51 but sure seem to think they are! For people using the internet.. Its POINTLESS!!!!!!

 

- regressive-politics -These guys allowed politics into that site to taint it when they made this big, Huge deal over etika and a character made of him no ones ever even going to use. etika. Of ALL people who should be receiving such boons, They could and should  have done all that for: Robin williams, Issac hayes, Stephen William Hawking (Itd be funny but could also be scary strong) Prince the singer who has SO much personality that was also added to thanks to dave chappelle or others of real life or anyone related to characters of fiction who havent been mugenized yet.. So the SANE thing to do of course was to choose (no offense to anyone who happened to be a fan of his here) A quite boring attention seeker like etika! : D Brilliant! They should have also made another of equal value in the form of the 'brick' from timespliters!

 

- Their site is HARD to navigate: There is so much uploaded shit on there so poorly organized that one could look up one genre of mugen and yet theres another unseen SLEW of the same content not being accessed all because the search-name doesnt have 'edit' in it. Which has a 20 second FORCED ''wait'' requirement! 20 seconds. Theres nothing more infuriating than for people strapped for time who just want to search for things quickly and are made to wait 20 seconds after every slow, Ass, Search. And you exit out of there to google/bing whatever or stay on site and remain inactive for a little while.. PICTURE-CLICK security checkpoint!! 😄 Stop it!! And i havent even GOTTEN to the weird, douuchy ''download limit'' they have placed on their content! Sometimes you can only download some and then bam ''youve reached your download bandwith'' for today please come back later'' .. Even though 12:00 AM comes and still.. ''download bandwith limit-lock''. .. Which turns off and on, On and off seemingly randomly when you justwantotdownloadalittleandnothavetoseethatstupidpaaaaaaage! x D So EFF that there too! There are so many pre-beta/beta-alpha and half-working projects that its a complete sloooog to pick through what is garbage or what works. It is SO god damn bad that it almost looks as if whoever was in charge of organizing gave up for the most part!

 

- So many banned people on there they left there but never removed: Guys.. There are so many ''banned' peoples accounts on mugen archive for obviously silly things like ''uploading the wrong way'' but they are obviously left there like heads on stakes as a ''warning'' for everyone else to ''daare'' not violate the ''sacred (cow) rules'' of whatever millenials are running m. archive. Because once again.. It is just some insecure people gone mad with power running some site like theirs who do those sorts of things. Im extra sick of them doing THAT. They dont respect their users n e a r enough, It disgusts me. How about you all. And as ive seen firsthand.. You can be on there for YEARS and then one day after everything youve done for them or said and invested your time in - Pow, banned. Probably by some psuedo-philosopher-failed-highschool wannabe techies

 

- Their site seems dead: While this one seems to have activity on it.. Theirs seems to have been left barren in some aspect, If that makes any sense. As if people... Take their efforts elsewhere. Probably for everything ive mentioned or am not aware of yet.

 

- (One more time because its double true) Their site suuucks to navigate: Every

WHAT is it with this! To see everything requires clicking and clicking clicking those numbers clicking and clicking some more with no idea how long it goes for instead of a list! How is it that large anime PORN sites have had this vastly improved upon since the early 2000's buut ohh - NOT mugen archive! Theyre too good for that, Or is it incompetence? >.< Guess what - Theres nothing efficient about that! And this never, Ever, CHANGES there!

 

 

- You cant edit comments once theyre posted: And this goes for every site like twitter and everything else.. In their text-fields, If you were half-asleep and decided to type and god forbid if a correction or series of them is needed.. Too bad! Theres no undoing anything misspelled once 'posted' because the method to do that is MISSING! Its never been there! I know coding is hard but its like they never update anything there, Like its stuck in the worst ways in the early 2000's! Theres no erasing comments if theres a need to withdraw and redo them because.. gaah! Nothing allows it! It felt every time like sensory-deprivation and its sooo BAAD!

 

- If someone hates you there: IF someone or some people didnt like what you said and leave scathing comments in the 'rating-comments' section in your profile? You erase.. And why why oh why are stains left in the form of ''such and such erased this comment''. They just sit there, Theres NO getting rid of them! People.. Why does it seem like the overpuffed mods behind that site are so heavy into shaming for seemingly everything? Jesus man.. If i was to let go and cuss them out from here on out well it would go on for pages and pages and pages because THATS how awful an experience it is to be there at least if anyone tries to have even a little of an active presence and slime archive mods dont like you. What is wrong with them!

 

- The site crashes constantly. Ohh GOD, It crashes con-stant-lyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!: And never at convenient times. But with that place.. I REALLY mean it. Im dead fucking serious. Most other sites dont have this problem so what is wrong with them - WHAT, WERE, THEY, THINKING! When they built that sites infrastructure!

 

- This one is especially for you all, Not that id wish that websites problems on my WORST ENEMY: (If youve ever had the 'experience' like i and many others have at slime archive.com) What ELSE have they done to make mugen tiresome, Arduous and a pain in the ass to work with? Did they cause you bowel-interrupting annoyances or complete unbridled planet-destroying fury? 

 

All in all.. UP THEIRS at slime archive! I hope everyone understands that what i said isnt just trolling but was experienced for days months and years at that god awful place. I turned a blind eye for years to everything wrong there out of nostalgia for the game characters they store, And the spirit behind what they do.. But all that is OVVER! I hope thewaybackmachine.com forgot to catalogue them when they crash for the last god damn time at mugen archive dot com. I hope Their characters and shell-sprites turn into missingno's and EAT that damn site alive until nothing is left until an evil bunch of self-aware coding that is just one notch under SKYNET, It infected my brothers gameboy hardware taking over it and not allowing saves AND I HOPE IT HAPPENS TO THEIRS TOO BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS THEY ALLOW PISSES ME OFF! : D They make me feel sick.

Honestly, I also had the same issue with MUGEN Archive - Dizzy was the main man responsible for all such mess and not to mention the infamous community weekend in which I really despise a lot - The worst thing is that you can only download characters over 10MB once you're signed in, but when signed out you really can't. MUGEN ARCHIVE is now ruined, all because of Dizzy (and as he revealed his true colours in front of me thus revoking access to the site). - I hope Someone can Run MUGEN Archive better than him. And MUGEN archive Bans too many people for no reason - even for NOT trying to break a rule at all. What kind of horrible monster would do this to an innocent person like me? Dizzy needs to be punished for his actions for what he's done to users! MUGEN Archive is Awesome but it was ruined by the Horrible, Sadistic Dizzy, since he's done the damage first! - And not to mention the Catchpa involving Buses, Trucks and Trains before accessing the site, and when you sign up in the website - they'll force you to donate, which of course is a complete scam!

They're crazy with the IP bans, too, don't forget that.

 

That being said, having been there for a while, I don't mind the site, it's just who-know-who, the entire "quanity over quality" thing (especially with more popular things), although that part is common in MUGEN anyway (but it's worse there), the amount of kids who probably shouldn't even be on the internet, and leaking stuff that makes me mad.

 

Also the fact that some people will make works from them exclusive to there, especially the infamous Joy Games.

(Note: I am guilty for downloading leaked characters, but that was just because I wasn't sure if there were decent versions of the ones that were leaked. I didn't know until I did see they were leaked.)

Back when how MA Discord permamently Muted me for no Reason however they removed it.

 

I've never been Banned but yes everything as i see it sucks how People gets banned for no reason or when Admins go Full Sensitive over anything else that you haven't done for it,  I've met with Private Uber-Cheap creators in a discord as well my Discord (MetalGuy's Community) i've seen people arguing about it and it's annoying how RARE times people gets banned for no reason or by Dumb Reasons.

It saddens how Their website is still likely back in 2000s with a outdated engine.

Another point to dislike the Mugen Archive: let's not forget the "community weekend event" that prohibits inactive users from downloading from Mugen Archive, in which, according to Dizzy, is intended to be a community growing event to become more "active members."  This sort of thing is ridiculous and is another reason that so many former members, like myself, have turned away from the Mugen Archive.  As such, we cannot control what they do with their website or their actions.  We can only control what we can do about our lives and just move on past the Mugen Archive and join better sites like Mugen Free For All.  Another thing to know is if the moderators there like Dizzy keeps their bad antics up, eventually, they will end up losing so much support and won't be as active as they'd like to be.  As for you're ban from the site, Modo_ekitz, I'm sorry to here about it.  As we know, they are nothing but a bunch of immature hacks who doesn't know how to run a website properly.  We just have to move on from the Mugen Archive and never look back.  That is all I have to say about the archive in this post for now.  And as Dissidia already said on this topic, "welcome to the club."

I myself only go there when i just really, REALLY desperate to find a certain character. But i have to install everu different IP changer everytime i want to go there, 70% of the time it never work.

I have found more reasons to dislike the Mugen Archive.  Their previous use of AdFly was used for downloading anything from the archive to make money, whether it be characters or stages or even full mugen games or screenpacks.  I have learned they have dropped AdFly for advertising to generate revenue, but still ask for donations.  This is a big problem.  By using AdFly and asking for donations for the Mugen Archive, they are breaking copyright laws to characters they don't own.  This is piracy.  Marvel, Capcom, SNK, DC Comics and so on and so forth own their characters for their respective intellectual property.  Such custom characters, for example, like Superman and Batman, both owned by DC Comics, I consider interactive fan art, and should not be used for profits or monetary gain.  Anytime that anyone sells fan art like Mugen characters that resemble Marvel or DC characters is infringing copyright laws on whatever company owns the characters that we, the players and creators, do not legally own.  They essentially become bootlegs.  Such copyright infringement, as we know it, is illegal, and if Marvel Entertainment, LLC. or DC Comics or Disney, and even Capcom and so forth finds that the Mugen Archive is asking for donations for so called "VIP" status, they can and quite frankly should file a cease and desist order to stop the Mugen Archive from receiving donations for content they do not legally own.  Some former users of the Mugen Archive are even locked out of their accounts and are required to make a donation to regain access to their accounts.  Again, this is illegal.  These mandatory donations are enabling the Mugen Archive to commit piracy for content they do not legally have any copyrights to.  With that said, some characters are original works, and originally conceived by actual artists who worked on all the sprites and moves of their original characters.  For example, Dragon Claw is an original character created by Singaporean creator Reuben Kee, and he had copyright for his Dragon Claw.  Even after his death from a team boating race that drowned him and several of his teammates when his boat tipped over, I believe his surviving family now own the rights to Dragon Claw, even though he is still available to download for free, which I am grateful that they still allow players to download him and add to their Mugen.  May Reuben Kee rest in peace.  With that said, I hope these points I have brought up helps all of us understand that they are breaking copyright laws and are committing piracy with these so called donations that they for some players are mandatory for them to even access anything.  To finish this post off, I'll leave a link for a video by True Gamer on YouTube for his input on the Mugen Archive, as this video helped me with my post.  You all take care, and have a good one.

On the subject of piracy, it's worth noting that their download section at one point actually contained pirated copies of various paid doujin games, including both Koumajou Densetsu/Touhouvania games and Cavestory, all of which were still there last I checked, which was only a few months ago.

That's insane.  That is yet another reason to blacklist the Mugen Archive.  I too hope that if they are caught for their piracy that they are made to pay all the money they have to all the companies they have infringed copyrights against and are held accountable for their piracy.  This is criminal, and not a single member who donated should ever receive a single penny back and it goes to paying restitution for violating copyright.  I'll admit that I had the misfortune of joining the Mugen Archive, first, before realizing their sleazy practices and joined this site.  Thankfully, I have never donated any money, not even a single cent, to this criminal site.  Now that I know they also pirate copyrighted games, as well, I distrust them even more.  Thanks for bringing this up, RicePigeon.  As such, we must keep the Mugen Archive blacklisted forever and hope they pay the price for their crimes and selfish greed.

The monetary gain debacle depends on how you look at it. Every website needs a source of income to stay online; for some, it's paid out of pocket, others through adverts and/or donations. Strictly speaking, in the case of MA, monetary gain is to pay for Dizzy's PS5 keep the site running, which in itself is fine; they're running a service after all and someone has to pay the server/hosting fees. In that aspect, it's no different from sites like MediaFire running ads on download pages. Naturally the other way to look at it is that they're profiting off licensed properties and the work of others, but again, no different from other file hosts that run ads alongside downloads. You're not actually paying to access the content...until you are.

 

See, a lot of content is locked behind having an account. Simple enough, it's a free account on the surface, but it seems a lot of new users are finding themselves in a moderation queue that doesn't move (alt: purgatory); there's a way to skip the queue, however, but it requires making a donation. Even having an account doesn't give you access to all the content, as lower user ranks have download limits, mandating the user to contribute to the site to rank up...or donate. That's where the issue lies: they're locking content they don't own behind grinding or a paywall, like a free-to-play game.

Has anybody talked about how they ban your IP address? Like... your account? Nah, lets ban any account on your computer that you will ever make for our website. AS IF ANYONE WOULD MAKE MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT FOR THAT HELLSCAPE OF A WEBSITE. It's a cryin' shame some creations are only there and nowhere else. 😞

One night i was randomly IP banned but that only affected the mobile hotspot i occasionally use. I personally view Mugen Archive as sort of a "necessary evil" since the content is hosted on their servers rather than an external file sharing site, but that's probably because my account on there is considered active enough to not be screwed over.

I've been a member in MUGEN ARCHIVE since 2016 and believe it or not, most of the problems you people stated never happend to me, well to be fair the 20 seconds wait while searching is annoying as hell no dissagreement here and when the Catchpa appears I tell myself "not again", thankfully it doesn't all the time, rarely as a matter of fact (like once every 10 or 15 days or so), most of the time it's just Cloudflare (thank god), other than that no problems for me, no community weekends, no political banners or anything else, and I'm just a new challenger in the site (second lowest rank for members).

 

But I have theory for why I didn't get any troubles as much as you guys, it's most likely because I live in Jordan in the middle east and because I live in a different region than most of you, I got a less annoying experience.

 

I won't quit MUGEN Archive as long as I'm OK there, but doesn't mean I will accept their wrong actions, just to let you know I understand you and I'm with you.

Of all the reasons to hate that godawful website, you decide this is your time to rant about how they had the temerity to memorialize a person who killed himself after years of struggling with mental illness. Because you think he's "boring" and an "attention seeker" (which i'm sure he was, it kind of seemed like a feature of his illness) and because they didn't memorialize the people you personally liked. And then you compare him to a literal brick.

 

Literally what kind of disgusting sociopathic subhuman are you? I can't believe nobody else is bringing this up. Imagine shitting all over a mentally ill person who committed suicide and thinking you're in the right. You should be ashamed of yourself.
