This is so that when Pokey faces right, the text won't be flipped. - Could use some better SFX, especially for the s.MP, s.HP, Bazooka special, and Car special. - Some hypers do too much damage, especially the Devil hyper. - For the Car special, the panels don't fit on the screen. - Just a nitpick, but why a black background on the sprites?
