Zaibatsu
Hey guys! I was wondering about what kind of program should I use for spriting? I just got my hands on Fireworks MX is that good for spriting or not? Paint Shop Pro is out of the question for me it doesn't have layer editing like Fireworks does for sprites. Thanks for your help Excahm! I've been using Fireworks MX to draw the sprites (of course!) and then I prevent the colorloss in Paint Shop Pro (Ryon's Tutorial on colorloss) I was just asking if anyone knew if it was alright to use Fireworks MX on sprites but I guess it is. Person_Unknown
I, personality, use GIMP because it has the simplicity of paint and the tools of photoshop. Plus, it supports transparency.
Ryon
You can use Paintshop for spriting as it does offer layers... lots of layers. but that aside, You need actual artistic skill to properly sprite images. I do not have LOL.

Ex✭Cᴀʜᴍ
Yup. Its all about skill rather than tools. I want some skills!!
LegatoSkyheart
Paint.net is pretty good. But I've sprited for years just using MSPaint. Though you would get a lot more out of it using some photoshop like programs like Paint.net or Gimp.
