    GohanSSM2 got a reaction from TheWhiteDevil27 in ideas for mugen 1.2
    Move all the stuff out of the game engine and back into the common.cns file where it belongs.  Adding in a GameMakeAnim to state 52 (jump land state) is annoying let alone all that crouch friction nonsense.  I want my MUGEN back.  I'm just tired of trying to overwrite and override the game engine and I miss the old v04.14.2002 and WinMUGEN days when all the stuff was in the common file.

    GohanSSM2 got a reaction from jaderlemes in noob question
    Using AILevel > 0 and Lifeset states it can be done in MUGEN 1.0 and later.  The player is AILevel = 0 and the AI is from AILevel 1 to 8.  The life is set at the top of the cns file in the character and I have seen it set to 10000 before,  You could set the life = 10000 in the cns and then add a -2 state at the bottom of the cns that goes something like this...
    [State -2,player]
    type = LifeSet
    trigger1 = time = 0
    trigger1 = 189 < stateno > 199  ;intro states
    trigger1 = AILevel = 0  ;player is AI zero
    value = 1000
    This would start the AI out at 10000 and if playing as the character would drop the character down to 1000 life
    Could also use LifeAdd instead of LifeSet in the above example.  Look in the sctrls html doc in MUGEN's DOCS folder.  If using a LifeAdd type then use value = -9000 would do the same thing almost unless you had multiple intro states.

    GohanSSM2 got a reaction from Ryon in Mr. Infinite Gouken download
    Infinite Gouken could be possibly downgraded to WinMUGEN, or you could just load all your other stuff into the newer MUGEN 1.0 or MUGEN 1.1 beta releases.  To downgrade you would need to semi-colon out the 'winquote' states (180) and probably a bunch more stuff.  Would probably be easier to just get the latest MUGEN and import your stuff into that.  MUGEN 1.0 and 1.1 have more features and are more compatible with more stuff than WinMUGEN was.  WinMUGEN was actually a hack of the old DOS MUGEN and was never an official release from Elecbyte anyway.  But Infinite Gouken is a MUGEN 1,0 and later release and not for WinMUGEN.

    Cool ZB, June 15,2000 at the old TESTP for me. First release June 23rd. Shoot that means you came in about the time TESTP exploded.  Glad you've been around because most of the rest of us have been coming and going (mostly going) for quite a while now.  A lot more 'life stuff' to be sure.  I'm pretty much a 'wargamer' myself but doing MUGEN stuff over the years has been cool.  Something different.

    Anyway.  Also hope this don't get locked either.  To Borewood (reminds me so much of Mike Werewolf of days gone by), I've always worked to be mediocre so asking me to 'step up' and all that doesn't work.  I'm happy with what I've done and can do.  Instead of worrying about others, don't worry.  Just do what you can do and realize there ain't really no 'perfect' but a bunch of perfekt for sure.  But all the downloaders I listen to always have the same request, "How about something different?".  You never know until you try.  And always up to Borewood if he wants to try or give up.  Same as myself or anyone else.  You can either try again or give up.

    Edit, oops, Honest I haven't given up, I just haven't had the time to try and move on with updating and incorporating the PSX and Sega UB/Shin Butouden games.  I know Ginyu and Android 16 would be interesting to do but need time to do it plus update the old stuff for v1.1 MUGEN and all that.  Way back when I left and used the excuse of 'the community' and all that, but in reality those that were close to me knew that I had had a heart problem and needed to get away from the stress (I believe razorgolem and definitely Komodo knew, not sure if I'd told Infiinma or not).  We all do what we do.  Nothing wrong with taking a break once in a while.  You never know what may come up next.  Life is life and MUGEN is just a game.

    Been real busy over the last year with more drama at work than MUGEN ever dreamt of.  On top of that I've been working on so many different projects that I haven't had extra time (and still don't really).  I'm working on updating my music library (http://www.theeaceman.com/phonemusic.doc) as well as upgrading my computer itself (http://www.theeaceman.com/pooter.doc) in addition to working at the local airport, getting back into playing guitar, reading, riting, and rithmetic, and all that.  Recently moved my book site to http://www.theeaceman.com and thenewmathbook site still up in the air (may or may not renew it depending on how things work out).  How's your day going?

    Oops, and also, the page dedicated to "you won't get it on the first try but hang in there till you learn more" is still at http://www.gohanssm.com/mugen.html

    And another note, the old sites I had were limiting in what I could/couldn't do.  The new sites gohanssm and theeaceman allow me a lot more freedom and with that I can FINALLY work on getting my sites back up to snuff.

But anyway, remember Ryon that you can't just pass away or "kick the bucket" without giving your two weeks notice and all. It's in your website terms of service agreement. Feel the love.

    As far as MFG, NunorZ and I kept trying to make it more of a peaceful, learning kind of place, while Nevermind and later Valodim kept kind of turning it into hotspot 'den of inequities'.  After a bit, NunorZ and I just kind of drifted away from all that drama and such which later became MFG's trademark.  I got banned a few times and I felt better for it actually.  I've never been much of a drama queen / king kinda person really.  Others kept trying to draw me in and after a while I just withdrew.

    My original homes were TESTP ( Motoslave, June to October 2000, Bravenet October 2000 to April 2001) then World of MUGEN (July 2000 to December 2001) then my own MaxiMUGEN (October 2001 to July 2003) and The Arcade with Slack86 (around March 2002 to July 2003).  CharaSoon (Japanese) got destroyed (Honest I didn't know about CharaSoon until after it showed up as a place I had posted at when I had never been there.  Hint, my EZ Board account was hacked into was how I found out about this forum), Dev destroyed, M.U.G.E.N. Being destroyed (imploded more like it), ZGTeam was a nightmare and never really a home for me, Was a lot after TESTP closed.

    Kind of why I do what I do too Ry.  I bounce in and out probably a bit more than you do.  OK, A LOT MORE than you do.  It's not really age or that but more after a while it seems kinda stale.  You work on other stuff (like the database BASIC stuff I do and Warlords Battlecry III, and Rise of Nations Rise of Legends, and The Lord of the Rings War of the Ring, and...)

    Anyway, ya go away for a bit then come back for a bit after some ideas come about, then disappear again, and.  But the nice part is that if you do something well (like make an awesome set of video tutorials) that make things easier for others, you can sit back and watch as others 'catch the creative fever' like we all did at one time or another.  That becomes the real fun after a while.

    But yes, the nice part is that after you've done something very well to help others along, it becomes easier all the way around.  You aren't needed as much and that allows you (me too) to drift off into the background a bit and relax while others enjoy the fun of creating (and the agony of defeat too lol).  But its nice when things get calmed down enough where many can relax and take care of themselves.

    We are all part of MFFA in our own way but together we've always grown stronger.  After a bit, we can relax because we aren't really needed as much anymore and it is a good feeling really to know that others 'carry on the traditions' in our own ways no matter where we may stray.

    It's always nice to have a home to feel comfortable and come home too Ry.  Thanks and enjoy.  You made it so and we've all helped in our own ways to keep it so.

    OK, backwards I guess but, Dislikes: 1. badly coded anything - character / stage / whatever... (bad coding that causes crashing or hang ups or lags in gameplay) 2. Overpowered (I like a match to last more than 5 moves or 5 seconds) 3. AI, Only needed to possibly keep a character from going into a 'penalty' state if computer controlled or activating a short range attack when an opponent is out of range. Any well developed character should be balanced enough not to require much of an AI. I like to see a variety of different moves when computer controlled, not a repetition of the same overpowered and overdamaging moves. 4. Infinites, infinites, infinites... (able to do a move over and over again causing damage without rest). 5. Comboholics. Too many combos leads to #4 again doesn't it? Likes: 1. Originality - something different 2. Balanced. Able to be played as as well as played against which leads into #3... 3. Has none of the dislikes...

    The game takes a bit to get used to because of the different perspective (3D models and viewpoints).  A couple people have tried Final Bout but it is a tough one to convert over to the 2D world of MUGEN.

    Great ideas here. Keep 'em coming. This is probably one of the best feedback topics for a creator that I've seen in years. Lots of great ideas and suggestions here. I'm kinda with Skeletor but in a different way. I understand some that release alphas and betas and such to give someone a feel for what the creator(s) are trying to do and get feedback possibly before a 'final' version. But there are some that release alphas and betas as final type releases which I don't think is a good thing. If it's still a WiP (Work in Progress) release then hopefully label it as such (alpha, beta, demo, v 0.8 and such). Otherwise it can get confusing to the downloaders. Nothing worse than thinking you are getting a finished version and it is half arsed done at best. And one of my 'great' things about MUGEN has always been that it allows any person the ability to edit and change things around to suit any person's liking (open sourced). It's always been nice to be able to edit things to your individual tastes and add stuff in or take things out as you see fit on your own. Not everything has to get uploaded to a site does it?
