While the others had left, Sasuke stayed around. He had the feeling the guards might want to know some information about what had happened. Elsewhere, Raina and Flandre reconvened in one of the many city streets. While both were interested in returning to the Warrior's Hangout, they were taking a more scenic route. "So Raina, did anything fun happen?" Flandre asked. "Not really. Someone's bag got stolen but Sasuke got it back no problem," Raina replied. "That sounds fun!" "Eh, Sasuke did all the work, I just waited." "Hmmm, but you worked together before right, or - wait - maybe that was different versions of you?" "Like clones?" "No, not like Sasuke's clones, like different universe versions of you!" "I... don't really understand, but-" Raina turned, thinking she heard something - or someone following her... it must've just been the pedestrians getting to her. "Raina?" "It's fine. Let's hurry back before something happens, if one of those monsters from earlier shows up it'd be trouble." As the two headed back to the Warrior's Hangout, their mystery pursuant reflected. 'Come now Raina, you're slipping,' she chuckled to herself. The people Raina was with could be dangerous, but she could beat Raina now. She just needed to get her alone...

Sasuke's clone wondered what was with these guys. They all seemed like normal people, except for the fact they were out to get him for whatever reason. Since they were coming from all directions, it'd be difficult to dodge any side... except downward. He thanked Kakashi for his next trick, as with a single handsign, he disappeared into the ground. The Earth-style Hiding Like a Mole technique had once been used by Kakashi against him. 'Dealing with them wouldn't be hard, but that man from before still needs his bag, so I better get going.' "He'll be able to find his way here, as long as nothing happens to him. However, shadow clones aren't very sturdy. If something happens, it could pop away into nothing."

"Now that you mention, I-" Raina's thoughts stopped, a memory that came unannounced. She had met Sasuke before, that's what her memory said, right? So why was it only now that she remembered? "The two of you will be working together for this mission," â–…â–…â–…â–…â–… stated. Raina looked to her left and saw Sasuke - except his attire was different and he looked much younger. Raina's attempts to focus on the one talking to her and Sasuke resulted in a fruitless headache as â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…â–…. "Are you sure this is necessary?" Sasuke asked, his attitude more flippant than he was in the present. "I wouldn't be putting you together if I didn't believe a two-man operation was necessary. You're both excellent fighters with team experience, you can make it work." "I met Sasuke before we went on a mission together. There was someone who sent us to do something - I can't remember anything about the mission though..." Raina said. The shrinemaiden's hand moved toward her face, trying to jog her memory, but to no avail. Raina recalled her theory that whatever - or whoever - had sent her to this world had done something to her memories. She had a feeling that that man from the memory was connected somehow. "Hmmph," Sasuke interjected, "that's sounds right, somehow. We've met before, and we worked well together against that thing. I suppose we did meet before and forget."

"This is all so cool!" Flandre yelled - the medieval aesthetic of Candor's old town was much different from the Scarlet Devil Mansion or the Human Village that she'd seen that one time, to say nothing of the modern architecture of the city. The people with animal ears weren't so interesting - she'd seen plenty of that in Gensokyo. Reisen and Mamizou had both come to the Scarlet Devil Mansion for one reason or another, but Penny thought they were cool! Raina on the other hand hadn't quite so easily forgotten about what happened earlier. The sights of Candor were a nice sight, yes, but there'd been that monster who had literally appeared out of nowhere in front of the Warrior's Hangout - the guards had mentioned that there had been multiple attacks. If it happened again, could they beat that one? Could they get the civilians out of the way? "I can't speak for the others, but it's got me worried too," Raina replied, "we beat the last one, yes, but if another shows up, it'd be trouble."
-
"This'll be the perfect time to relax," Raina said. After all the trouble the group had faced... hopefully things would look up. "All right! This'll be great," Flandre added, staying close to Penny. Sasuke meanwhile just followed behind, making sure the blonde vampire stayed out of trouble. Like it or not, he was pretty sure he'd met the vampire before. Maybe he'd realize something on this journey...

"This'll be really fun! I wonder if we'll meet the queen? Maybe we can get their guards to laugh a little!" "Settle down Flandre, they're probably not gonna let us meet the queen," Raina replied. Truthfully, she was worried that they'd encounter another one of those portal creatures during the outing, or perhaps some random group of hooligans would attack them like on the airship... "I'll come along," Sasuke replied to Lightflare. There was that gut feeling again - that he knew Raina and Flandre. Maybe he'd figure something out?

Watching the fight again gave an interesting perspective. Even her stronger spellcards weren't a sure hit on this thing. She hoped Flandre and that Sasuke guy had a few tricks up there sleeve. Raina didn't like the sound of that - even one of those creatures was trouble. "We'll just beat the next one like we did before!"
-
"I don't know what that was but it was kinda scary and very ugly. I'm okay though and I don't think there's any infection things going on." Raina listened in on the conversation. Anwalt and Darkflare had taken the opening initiative in it. "You're secrets are safe with us... there are more of those creatures?"

Sasuke shares his observations of the beast as well, especially the fact that it seems to observe the world through something other than human sight. He also notes that while it was able to absorb energy projectiles, it never did such with physical kunai. "Hmm. Maybe," Raina replied, though she wasn't satisfied with the explanation. "That works! So, now what??" Flan asked.
