Hello Guys, I am here to show a project me and Zvitor were working: Battle Stormer Classics

This project was born of a divergence of ideas during the process of project development Nostalgia Super Wars, from MDI. Zvitor and I had some ideas that were not compatible with that project but were thinking that would work out.

After some attempts, Zvitor decided to leave the previous project and suggested that we have our own design, which I readily supported. The characters made for that project are still available in the previous project (is up to the MDI to use them or not). I still am part of that project, but this will be my focus now.

So is how all this was born. We thanks MDI for the great inspiration:)

GAMEPLAY


The gameplay is very simple project, far more based on plataform games rather than fighting games:

- one round, no defense and no auto turn

- Two attack buttons and 1 special

- Some interactive backgrounds (platforms, items, breakable objects, etc.)

- Interactive lifebars, which reacts when the player was hit

ROSTER


We do not decide the characters yet, but we want to focus more on characters from platform games than shooting Characters from . We are accepting suggestions, since some rules are followed:

- Characters from 16-bit systems or more

- No super deformed characters (big head, for example) or too cartoonish characters

- The characters must fit into the size limit of the image below:

Minor characters (or larger) will be accepted provided they are not human (such as animals, monsters, robots, etc.) or characters that are actually smaller than normal, such as the case of Mega man. Bosses are not affected by this rule.

ZVictor had made the best Spider-Man for mugen. Ever. I got a few suggestions: - At least one Disney long-feature character, not only Goliath. I think everybody had played at least one Disney game during their childhood. I'd suggest cub Simba or Beast (Shadow of the Beast) as heroes or Scar if you want a villain - Any character from Golden Axe would be awesome too. I think the 3rd game fits the style better - Harry Jr from Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure - Maybe Strider from Strider 2?

Disney char I am not sure about it. Maybe its too cartoon. Simba could be cool though.

Golden Axe chars are too big (as any beat them up) but with some resize it can be in. I think on that Panther char

Cronus is awesome, I think most people will like him. Also that's why I said Golden Axe 3. If memory serves, this game requires just a few resizing, it wouldn't be too hard. Maybe just 2 or 3 pixels (both height and width)

The Lion King characters are the ones which fits the style mostly. Specially the Adult Simba levels. The cub Simba might have some resize, unless we want a lion cub as big as a horse http://mugenfreeforall.com/public/style_emoticons//TrollFace.png

Or maybe SNES' Aladdin Abu. As one super-small super-irritating character. Because some people thinks everything is better with monkeys

thanks man. That was one of our differences wich leads to our break up from that project: we think that a beta could be already released, but MDI doesn´t agrees with that. I was involved in Megaman Scrap Arena too (making a bonus char) and at his other project (the Gameboy one). Dunno if I still takes parts on that projects.

Oh i see, that's too bad man, well so, i guess MDI won't release any demo untill is finished, now speaking about your project, could you add chars like, Getsufuu Maden, Rygar, Ryu from Ninja Gaiden, the Robot from Cybernator (SNES) or Simon Belmont?

Ryu from Ninja Gaiden is 8-bits, I think. I'd love to have Simon Belmont too but I think he's off-scale? What about this one? http://www.spriters-resource.com/genesis/ninjagaiden/sheet/18646 I think the arcade one is incomplete but with some editing and using some complementary sprites from this one it might work. I think it might be less troublesome to make it smaller than bigger. But yeah, I can try making the SNES one bigger, don't seems too hard
