This is a project that's being done by Me, Duck@SS Farm, and Trinitronity.

This topic first appeared in the Mugen Guild, but now all progress done can be shown here as well.

1st Row from Left to Right: Bunny Tracy, Rober Pasta, Chun Fo Moon, Musashi, John & Amy Ranboo, and Goho Li.

2nd Row from Left to RIght: Carl Stalong, Rose from Titenic, Goho Li's father Cliff Li, Tyson Houbot from Master Fighter VI and finally the Final Boss of the Remake, Conbon.

This is just to show their looks, their sizes will change when I'm making them.

 

For gameplay, they will be set up like Bunny Tracy, with a 4-button layout, a Focus Attack, the standard 3 to 4 supers, and possible alternate palettes that can give them different moves.

Whoawhoa-wait.

First off all, thanks for creating the topic. :3

Second of all, please don't spoil the DLC characters already.

Third of all, I came to the conclusion that Sophia and Yaein are better suited as DLC, because I'm not even sure if a 2-in-1 character of such big altitude is even possible because of MUGEN's limitations regarding custom states and throws..

As a replacement, how about Hobout (the M.Bison lookalike)?

Also, I think it's safe to say that Goho Li is around 75-85% finished.

i love the idea of a fullgame based on a bootleg game.

by the way, was Goho Li female?

Not really, I made her a girl because there were 4 shotoclones in the original game and all of them were dudes.

Speaking of Goho, my partner Trinitronity said that she is almost ready for release.

Bump of epic proportions!

As you may know, I was waiting for Ghost Killer to finish a Goho Li animation for me. Sadly, he lost motivation.

I was really desperate for a long time (I didn't knew anyone else who I could ask), so I just decided to sit down, and in only 2 hours, I made this:

It's not perfect, but it not only does the job well enough, I also managed to achieve my personal goal (base it off Ryu's Focus Attack).

It's also the first time I made transition frames with the filling gaps method, so I'm glad that I also managed to improve my spriting skills at least a bit.

So yeah, work on Goho Li is now officially picked up again. I'm also now searching for resources for Goho Li's stage as well (Cliff Li's stage will be an edit of Goho Li's stage).

I was wondering when that was going to get done. If you want stages similar to Goho's stage in the NES game to edit, try either Galford's stage from Samurai Shodown 3, the Waterfall Dojo from Aggressors of Dark Kombat, or the Waterfall stage from Ranma.

I actually thought about using either Blanka's stage or Ryu's stage as a base for at least the ground (both are wooden planks).

But thanks for the other sources as well, will look into it now.

Also, Goho Li's throw is finished as well as two of her three supers (although I might change the FX for the projectile one). And I finally found the original NES sprite rips of the characters, so that's good as well!

Bad news:

Galford's bridge was pretty much perfect for Goho Li's stage, but the only rip that exists of that stage doesn't the the background seperatated from the bridge.

And to make matters worse: the background has high detail, so I cannot just remove it myself without the risk of removing too much.

So...anyone has proper sprite rips of Galford's stage bridge from Samurai Shodown 3? Thanks in advance!

Goho-Li's stage is finished and will be released together with the character Goho-Li.

Especially since only two little things are left for Goho-Li's first release.

One is her LVL3 super, which is already fully sprited, but the other one is more uncommon and needs to be ripped: the round clear jingle from Street Fighter 4, but as a NSF rip (converted to WAV, if possible).

For Cliff Li's stage, I actually though about just making it play during a different day time, because readding the waterfall would be just Galford's stage again.

Also, after Goho Li, I will work on Colbout (Sophia&Yaein will be moved to the DLC spot, because they may be as much problematic in MUGEN like the Ice Climber on the 3DS version of Smash Bros), so I would like to have your most recent Colbout sprite, complete with a list of characters you used as a base, so I can make more sprites.

After Colbout comes probably Cliff Li, though, and only if DuckSS' decision to not work on Cliff Li anymore will be permanent, because I really don't want to steal away WIPs from him.

-That sounds reasonable. But I was thinking more along the lines of using Blanka's/Ryu's ground for the bridge and have a different waterfall backdrop.

-For Colbout I used M.Bison with Geese's head, or more specifically the Color Seperation patched version made by davismaximus that was done for POTS M.Bison. I used M.Bison's charge for the idle stance

-Did Duck ever say that he's not going to do Cliff anymore, because I never heard anything like that from him.
