  1. Lucent Vermillion BGM: Boundless Network After following Odin, Lucent and Jin reached the control room. It had a large computer with a lod of windows opened at the screen. Odin sat on the chair and began to press a handful of keys. Jin: Whoa... it's enormous... Odin: I'll get access to the footage from when the stop occurred. In the meanwhile, try to see if there's something happening right now. Lucent: Understood. BGM: Threat Just as they looked, the cameras caught the moment an android descended and dispatched two guards at the back of the deck. Even though it was distant, it was ready to attack Anwalt and the others at a second. Jin: What the hell was that?! Where did that thing come from?! Lucent: From the sky... but above us there are only clouds... unless...! Odin: It's a raid. We're being attacked by another ship. Lucent: It has to be the answer. They're using the clouds to hide, hence why we couldn't notice anything. Jin: Freaking thieves... but that android... Lucent: He might be with them. The reason remains unknown, but I'm sure he's not doing this on his own. Odin: True. But who's commanding him? Anwalt Vermillion BGM: Threat plays here too Just as Penelope went inside, the ship tilted once more. It went from the back to the front. Anwalt: Shit, it came from the back. And Umbra didn't return yet. Umbra The screams from the back echoed inside the room. More guards went on their way. Umbra: What was that?! Guard: Tsk. You stay here! He left and locked Umbra inside... except the window was left open. Umbra: Nice going, genius. Surely I'm going to obey you. He climbed the wall and jumped from the window, only to see an android marching through while making corpses from left to right. Umbra: (So this is our visitor. Facing him alone won't do much... still...) BGM: The Lonely Werewolf Umbra whistled and called two wolves. That might call the attention of the android and draw him for the chase. Umbra: I suppose you're enjoying yourself, mysterious invader. I suggest you defeat me next if you truly wish to win. With a fingersnap, the two wolves jumped right at the android, ready to bite him. Umbra jumped right afterwards and unlocked the chains of his axe, sending its reach right at his head.
  2. Lucent Vermillion BGM: Calamity If the outside seemed bade, inside was actually worse. When Lucent reached the upper lounge and looked at the situation, the people were far more panicked. The crew were trying to control them at all costs as one single eye-patched man discussed with a red-haired, student-looking young man. Lucent ran towards them, while avoiding the confusion. ???: You can't just leave and not give me an answer! Why the hell did we stop?! ???: Look, I can give you an answer after I discover it! Now, please let go of my arm! Lucent: Excuse me, but are you the captain of the ship? ???: *sigh* Yes, I am. What is it now? Lucent: Why did an abrupt stop like this one happened? ???: That's what I asking him about but he's just ignoring me! ???: I'm not ignoring you. I can't answer what I don't know! We're checking all the surveillance cameras but we can't find anything yet! Lucent: ... I see. First of all, we need to preserve the guests' safety. Please, order them to head directly to the cabins and lock the doors. ???: What? Look, I can't issue an order without knowing what it is first- ???: Dude, we don't have time! Just issue it already! ???: ... Lucent: Captain... before I can continue, what's your name? Odin: ... Captain Odin. Lucent: We will be able to confirm it easier once all movement has stopped. With the guests running amok, it becomes difficult to find anything. So please, issue the emergency order. Odin couldn't believe it, but the two kids were right. He took out his small microphone, pressed its button and began to talk throughout the speaker. Odin: "Attention, all passengers. Head immediately to your cabins and lock the doors and windows. I repeat, head to the cabins and lock the doors and windows. Do not leave until second order." Upon the issue was ordered, the passengers all ran down to their cabins. Soon, the sound of locks echoed throughout the ship. ???: Good, they're all going down to the rooms! Odin: Now then, you should take your counsel into account and do the same. Lucent: No. Me and my friends want to help you. That's also why I came. I want to check the cameras as well. Odin: Are you crazy?! There's no way I'll leave guests to resolve such thing- Lucent: Captain Odin, we don't know if this is a paranormal event or not! I don't feel anything at the moment, but I don't know about the next! If something passes beyond the point of normal, is your security able to stop it? Odin: ! Lucent: We're guests, but we're jeopardizing our safety, whether you like it or not. Odin: ... I see... young kids, what are your names? Lucent: Lucent Vermillion. Jin: The name's Jin Kaien! Odin: Lucent and Jin. Follow me, I'll take you to the cameras. Odin pressed a button at the wall and a secret door opened. It would take him, Lucent and Jin to the cameras. Lucent: Sorry to have dragged you into this mess... Jin: Relax. I may not look like it, but I can fight too! Odin: Hurry up, you two. Lucent: Right. Let's go. Both went inside the corridor with Odin following them last. He closed the door as it disappeared into the wall, alongside the button. Umbra BGM: Troublesome Visitor After running a while, Umbra stopped a little at the middle of the ship. It seemed empty as it should ever be. Except for one thing: a lot of guards were lurking around. Because of the abrupt stop, they might also be verifying what was happening around those empty spots. He had to be careful not to get caught. Umbra: (I need to move around and be careful. If I get caught, I'll be placed under suspicion.) He began to move around quietly in order not to call much attention. Whenever he felt it'd be risky to continue, he stopped at some point and hid inside one of the many faculty rooms. After the noise settled, he continued to move. Umbra: (Still, the traffic of ships doesn't seem to be that low. If this is the main transportation vehicle in this world, there has to be a reason for this particular ship to be targeted.) He noticed sounds and jumped into another room. However, this room was rather different from the others. It had a computer, with a map window left open. Not to mention, there was a hand transceiver lying on the table. After seeing the room, he reached a conclusion. Umbra: ... Someone from the inside gave the movements of the ship. We've been tailed from the beginning. Suddenly, the device received a call. Umbra picked up and received the call, remaining silent all the time. Voice: Oi! OI!! Someone there?! Umbra: ... Voice: Yo, we can attack now or what?! We got everything settled up for this!! Umbra: (I'm not going to answer it. Let's just hear it.) Voice: Hey!! Ah screw it! Hey, newb! Jump down on that ship and take down the security!! The transceiver stopped talking. Umbra got what he needed, but now he had to return. However... Guard: Halt!! Who goes there?! Umbra: (Darn it... took too much time...) New NPCs Introduced!
  3. BGM: Skygazer still playing Anwalt: Oho, what are you trying to entice me for? Umbra: Ahem. Anwalt was almost going on Melina's vibe when Umbra interrupted him. Alongside Lucent, who finished the new recipe idea, they went back to the group. Umbra: Decency. There are people around if you hadn't noticed. Anwalt: Can't you just stay quiet for once? Umbra: Well, someone needs to stop those indecent and deplorable acts of you two. Right, Lord Lucent? Lucent: I wouldn't go too far to call it deplorable. This is sort of normal to happen between a man and a woman. Umbra: Wait, you're OK with this whole shenanigan? Lucent: Who am I to say who Anwalt should go out with or not? Besides, I have a big amount of responsibilities already and I don't have time to be wacthing over my brother's love life. Anwalt: Attaboy! Now that's my brother! Lucent: But seriously, if you two want to go steady, do it in private. The deck's not the best place for things like this. Anwalt: And why would the tourists care? Lucent: Did I ever say about the tourists? I hope you remember: there are two minors right around you. Anwalt: You're almost hitting 18, I don't think that- Lucent: There are two minors right around you. Lucent's words were directed not only to him. He might be somewhat mature to not be bother about the scenario, but there was Penelope to take account for. Anwalt remembered that and backed off for a moment. Anwalt: Oh... right... Umbra: *sigh* You're a lost cause. Anwalt: Umbra, you stay out of this. No one asked for your opinion. Lucent: Anwalt and Umbra, what have I told you both at the phone and at the airport? As long as I know, both of you don't know how to fly. Anwalt and Umbra: ... Lucent: It doesn't surprise me why we look actually dysfunctional. *sigh* I hope we can fix this as soon as possible... Lucent: In any case, I suppose we're getting to Candor soon enough. Suddenly, the boat came to a halt. Some of the people started to get anxious. BGM: Crisis Anwalt: Wait, why the boat stopped? Umbra: Don't tell me it's the extraordinary event... Lucent: I think we should take this seriously. I'm going after the captain to see what happened. Anwalt: Got it. We'll stay here and see if we find anything strange. Lucent nodded and went back inside to find where the captain could be. It wasn't normal, the halt was completely abrupt. Anwalt: I don't feel any weird auras around here. Whatever did this doesn't have anything to do with magic. Umbra: I'll check out the back. *whistle* As Umbra whistled, three wolf-shaped shadows appeared and stood with the group. Umbra: If anything comes around, tell the wolves to howl and I'll head back as soon as possible. Anwalt: Alright. Safe rides at your end, Umbra. Umbra: Be careful, the four of you. Umbra left to check the back of the ship. Anwalt kept attentive to see if there was anything suspicious around.
  4. Anwalt: Yep, it's a mesmerizing view. Very relaxing, by the way. Anwalt: Oh, don't worry about Lucent. He's just on inspiration mode. That happens in a 1/36 ratio, but when it does... Anwalt: It means new recipe for sweets. I like it when those happen. After all, it's free sweets in my belly! BGM: Skygazer Meanwhile, Umbra reached Lucent, who was really at the deck's edge. He seemed really distracted with the view. Umbra: There you are, Lord Lucent. Lord Anwalt told me you're feeling inspirational, so- Lucent: Clear skies... "Clear Sky Cake"? No wait, I already have a lot of cake options... maybe a cupcake! No wait, that's just a small cake... Umbra: Lord Lucent? Hello? Lucent: Truffles... no, that's too overused... croissants! On second thought, I don't think it's going to work out. Out of season Easter eggs...? That sounds weird... Umbra: Lord Lucent, I'm talking to you. Hey, I'm still here. Lucent: Aha! Lollipops! Wait, how does one make lollipops? Maybe I can do those chocolate ones. Oh, and I can add blueberry flavor to the chocolate and use some cotton candy as decoration and representation of the clouds! They'll be on different shapes and- Umbra: Earth to Lord Lucent!! Lucent: AH!! U-Umbra?! Since when you were here?! Umbra: I just arrived, but you were so lost on Candy Land that you forgot the rest of the world. Lucent: Y-You almost gave me a heart attack! Geez, I was just finishing a new recipe plan. Umbra: For what? Chocolate lollipops? What were you going to call them? Popping Skies? Lucent: Popping Skies... that's actually a good name! Umbra: Really?! I-I mean, of course it's good. I'm the one who said it after all. Lucent: Yes, indeed. Thank you, Umbra. Now I have my recipe plan ready to put into practice! Umbra: Well, we'll need ingredients and a space to do that, anyway. Umbra: It's also amazing how you got mesmerized by such a view. That's not something that happens too oftenly, considering you're you. Lucent: This is the sort of scenario that a dream can give, but it's enjoyable to be on the real deal. Although... Umbra: Although...? Lucent: Nothing particularly important. In any case, let's return to the others.
  5. After walking a bit, they reached the deck. The blue skies were visible and the clouds dispersed as the ship flew through them. Other guests were in the deck, most of them enjoying the pool. Lucent: Wow... what a beautiful view... Anwalt: Uh, Lucent, isn't this sorta normal to you? I mean, you can fly. Lucent: This view and that view are different. Also, stop ruining my view. Anwalt: Alright, my bad. Lucent went ahead towards the deck's end to see the sky with a clear vision range. Like an artist, he was inspired to catch the view into a recipe. In the meantime, Umbra finally came. Umbra: Your bags are in the cabins. Also, there isn't a costume-wearing employee... jerk. Anwalt: That's rich, coming from you. Umbra: Wait, where's Lord Lucent? Anwalt: Went ahead to see the sky. Inspiration hit him. Umbra: I'm going ahead to watch over him. When inspiration hits, he's less attentive to what's surrounding him. Umbra followed the direction Lucent went. Inspiration equals distraction, so he needed to be sure Lucent was fine.
  6. Lucent: Well, thank you all for your opinions. It makes me glad that people from other world enjoyed my sweets as well. Anwalt: You guys haven't seen his cakes. That mint chocolate flavored, 5-floor tower cake you made was incredible! Lucent: Well, if we get time and ingredients, I'll bake a cake for all of you to try. I don't know the flavor yet, but I'll come up with something. If you'd like to share ideas of flavor, I'll gladly take notes of them. Then, Anwalt noticed Penelope bursting into laughter and followed her. Anwalt: Pffft... ahahahaha!! Penny shares our sense of humor! Lucent: It seems that way. Well, I think this is enough, so I'm bringing him back. Lucent snapped his fingers once more and Umbra's vision returned to normal. However, he seemed sick. Umbra: Ugh. I feel so dizzy... Lucent: It's your fault. In any case, let's head to the deck. Umbra: Can I at least get a truffle...? Lucent: Sure, go ahead. Umbra got a truffle and ate it instantly. The flavor made him a little better, but not much. Umbra: It's tasty... yet I still feel sick. At least, it's over... Anwalt: Hey, Umbra, did I tell you that there's going to be a costume walking around in the lounge and it looks like a really fluffy cat? It wants to give hugs too, so maybe you shouldn't- Umbra: BWHOSHDFOIISHJOA!! NOPE!! No, no, no!! I'm taking your bags to the cabins!! Excuse me!! Umbra grabbed both Lucent and Anwalt's bags and left in a hurry. At this moment, Lucent couldn't hold his laughter or composture. Lucent: Pfft... Anwalt: And here it comes... Lucent: *giggle* AHAHAHAHAHAHA!! "BWHOSHDFOIISHJOA"?! What the hell is that?! AHAHAHAHA!! Anwalt: Hook, line and sinker! I successfully took a hearty laughter out of Lucent! Lucent: Ahaha... oh god, my stomach hurts and I'm almost crying. Whew! I'm heading to the deck too, Melina, so I can breathe after all this. Anwalt: Let's head there together then! I kinda want to head there as well. Lucent: P-Please don't forget the truffles behind. Hehehe... oh my god, that was truly entertaining. Anwalt nodded and grabbed the box. Before closing it, he gave a truffle to the laughing Penelope. Soon, he and Lucent were to first ones to leave the lower lounge and walk towards the deck.
  7. Lucent: Of course. If I can help you, I shall do my part. Anwalt: Well, I guess we're kind of set up. I might walk around too before I get bored. Lucent: Hmm... maybe seeing the deck will give me the inspiration to do. Seeing the blue skies might feel relaxing. Umbra: Well, I'll leave your bags at the cabins. Now, if you excuse me. BGM: Birthday Cake But before Umbra leave, Lucent held his arm. Umbra: Uh, Lord Lucent, what are you doing? Lucent: I suppose you forgot a trait I have. The one to remember debts I owe and to hold grudges against people whenever I need to. Lucent: And just because I was quiet about it back there doesn't mean I'm not mad at the scandal, Umbra. Family or not, calling me a "brat" and slapping me as you did is overstepping the limits. Umbra: It was for your own good. Also, it's your fault for doing this. What, you're going to do something at me now? Lucent: Yes, I do. And it involves something you don't like. I hope you're ready. Lucent snapped his fingers. Umbra didn't seem to have changed at anything, but his vision started to distort a little. Everything started to look.. cute in his eyes. He started to shiver and to look completely uncomfortable and scary. Umbra: Oh no... no you didn't...!! Lucent: Oh my, there's an unicorn at your head, Umbra. And he looks so happy... Umbra: AAAAAH!! Get it off!! Get it off!! *slaps head violently* Anwalt: Pfft... Umbra: AGH!! Everything's... just too cute!! I hate cute stuff!! Lucent: Aw, but there's a giant plushie behind you and it wants to hug you tightly. Umbra: Y-You're definitely lying... that's a lie! There was obviously nothing there. For them, at least. When Umbra turned around, there was a giant teddy bear with his arms open and a big smile on his face. Umbra: AAAAH!! Get away from me, you aberration!! The bear tried to hug Umbra but he evaded it. However, the imaginary plushie was fast and managed to run after Umbra. And when he looked at it, he received the hug. Umbra: NOOOOOO!! L-Let me go!! Let me go!! Anwalt: Hahahaha! Karma hitting at its best! That's hilarious, just look at him! Lucent: Hehehe. Indeed, seeing Umbra suffer like this is sort of an amusement on its own. Anwalt: Nice going, Lucent! Now that's true comedy! Lucent: Well, I might turn it off after some while. I'm not that evil to keep this on for a long time. Lucent: Oh, there's something else I need to give you all. Lucent took out a rather decorated box out of his bag. He put it at a table right next to the couch and opened it, revealing a line-up of truffles inside it. Lucent: Since I've stuttered on my apology, I think this should serve well as a replacement. I made this before we came here. Anwalt: Whoa, so you really made a batch before we went out! No wonder your bag kinda smelled like fresh chocolate. Anwalt: Anyway, this is kinda weird. I thought you wouldn't want to reveal this talent of yours. Lucent: Well, I have a reason to do it so. Besides, I... don't think saying sorry isn't exactly enough. Lucent: In any case, feel free to pick one, everyone. I hope you enjoy the sweets as the show goes on for a little while. Anwalt: Definitely! I might even record some parts of it!
  8. Anwalt felt glad for a moment, as it seemed that no one held anything against Lucent's behavior. However, he was soon taken back by Raina and Lilith, both asking questions he wouldn't be able to answer. Anwalt: Uh... I don't know. I mean, Lucent was the one who bought us everything so he should know about it. Lucent and Umbra arrived as the question about the cabins and the arrival were not answered by Anwalt. Umbra: We're back with the arrangements done. Lucent: So, what is it that I'm supposed to know? Anwalt: Those arrangements and how long it'll take us to get there. Lucent: 4 hours if nothing extraordinary happens during the trip. Umbra: The ship is composed of section. We're at the lower lounge. Up ahead is the restaurant and there is also a mini shopping area, an upper lounge and the deck with sky view and a pool. Lucent: There are a lot of cabins between the sections. Ours belong in the corridor between the restaurant and the shopping. Anwalt: So we'll have to walk a little bit. Well, at least we have things to do here. Lucent: I suppose. Is there anything else you have a question about?
  9. Anwalt: I agree with Penny. He wasn't good with his words, but all that he's trying to avoid is having the past repeating once more. I, too, don't want it to happen. Anwalt: So, speaking seriously now, I apologize for my brother's behavior but I understand his reason for doing it. So don't hold anything against him, please. Meanwhile, Lucent and Umbra finished the talk with the ship officers about the cabins they would share with the rest. However, they still didn't return. Lucent: ... Umbra: I know you might be angry with me, but I had to do it. For my fun, too, but for us to cooperate. Lucent: I'm not angry. My wish backfired on me, that's all. But you're their aim now. They hate you, and you have them reasons. Umbra: About your concern with me, toss it off. I can deal with them in my own way. Lucent: Stop tossing my concerns about your life aside! Umbra: ! Lucent: What I said about you being part of the family is true for me. Not only Anwalt, but I don't want you to leave me too. I'm clingy and childish with this, I know, but... Lucent fell silent as he remembered the memories of the past for a moment. Umbra put a hand on his shoulder and looked at him. Umbra: ... Sorry. Thank you for your concern. But like I said, don't worry. Umbra: You and Lord Anwalt are my priority. If you two are having fun, then it's fine for me. I don't care a bunch of random people hating me, so as long as you two are fine. Lucent: Umbra... Umbra: And I'm not leaving you 100%. I'm not that subservient, but I promised to them and to you that I would never leave you behind. Lucent: ... I won't forgive you if you break the promise. Now, let's head back. We need to talk about our cabins. Umbra: As you wish. Also, give me your bag. Lucent: But it's not heavy. Umbra: Just give it and let's go.
  10. Location: Airship #13 - Lounge Once they were inside the airship, the group decided to rest in the lounge. Lucent went ahead with some other passengers to get the arrangements for the cabins they would share. Anwalt sat in the couch with the rest. However, not everyone seemed happy. For starters, Penelope seemed anything else but her excited self. Anwalt decided to joke a little, just as an attempt to not make her frown too much. Anwalt: Melina, you sly fox, how come you're not sharing your beauty tips with Penny? Frowning isn't good for the skin... or something like that? Anwalt: Or did you fall for another guy and you saw a girl with him? Penny, Penny, wouldn't expect this from you~
  11. BGM: Hora theae still playing After dropping their bags, Anwalt and Lucent passed through the gates. Umbra put his axe away in darkness and passed through as well. Lucent was still distraught, so Anwalt decided to distract him from what happened. Lucent: ... Anwalt: So, about the airship, how does it work? It looks like a literal flying hotel for me. Lucent: O-Oh, right. Well, the airship is really big. Unlike other classes, the high one features cabins for us to rest, a lounge, a restaurant- Anwalt: It's basically what I said! It's a flying hotel! Lucent: I-If you want to consider it as one then maybe you're right. Except that the cabins will be shared by four people instead of each of us getting one. Anwalt: Oh. So how we're splitting then? Umbra: Boys on one cabin, girls on another. Anwalt: ... Really? Umbra: Do you have anything else in mind? And don't say shared rooms, that's not the best option. Lucent: We can think on how we share when we're in the ship. Let's just follow the passengers for now. Anwalt: Right then. To the airship! Lucent: OK. Let's go ahead and see it up close. Lucent and Anwalt went ahead to the airship. Before he could follow them, Umbra looked at Melina. Umbra: Don't think I haven't noticed the hint of sarcasm on your tone. I hope you do enjoy the trip, because this might be the last good thing you'll get from them. Umbra: I don't want a freeloader like you abusing of Lord Lucent's kindness. He might not be the best person ever, but he's not evil and he's trying his best. And since you don't hold anything back as much as to consider him only as your personal "bank", who knows what you think of Lord Anwalt. Best if you act like Miss Lilith, since you're pretty uncouth for a human woman of your age. After saying that, he leaves to follow the brothers to the airship. Even though he did all of those things earlier with them, he had them at his best interest. And protecting them from allies with "suspicious interests" was one thing he would do.
  12. They soon arrived at the boarding site. Lucent waved to signal them, as he was the next in the line to cross. Lucent: Oh, hello once again. We're the next ones, so I'm glad you all are here in time. Anwalt: Alright, but where are our tickets? Lucent: All here in my terminal. I'll just check them with the guards right there and everything will be fine. Umbra: Actually, before you can do that, there's something we need to talk, Lord Lucent. Lucent: OK. What is it, Umbra? BGM: Hora theae As Lucent wondered about it, Umbra slapped him right in the face, getting immediately serious afterwards. Lucent: Ow! Hey, what did you do that for? Umbra: Remind me one thing. When we were talking, didn't I say that you should take it nicely and have a conversation? Lucent: You did. And that's what happened- Umbra: "That's what happened" my behind! Peaceful talks don't include threatening, you brat! Lower your levels a bit, you don't get the right to determine what someone should do or not! Lucent: A-Alright, I understand I was in the wrong, so please stop making a scandal- Umbra: Now you're worried about the scandal? Look and see if I care. Now, how about you behave and go apologize like a good kid? Lucent: C-Can't I do that when we're inside the ship? People are looking all around and I'm uncomfortable with it- Umbra: Should've thought about that before being a jerk. Either you apologize or we're losing that ship. Hurry up, we don't have all day long, Lord Lucent. All the other passengers were looking directly at the group, throwing them various eyes, most of them at Lucent. He got instantly embarassed. His wish to protect Anwalt and Umbra from danger worked against him in a way he couldn't expect. Won by the pressure and knowing he was wrong at the end of it, he went to LightFlare and bowed. Lucent: I-I'm sorry for what I said before. I didn't mean to... I just wanted to... Lucent: *sigh* Nevermind, I'm in the wrong no matter what I say to explain myself. Not to mention I can't even think on the right words. Just... ignore what I said earlier... Anwalt: ... Umbra: There we go. Nice and easy. Now we can go to the ship. Lucent: R-Right... Lucent went over to the guards, completely distraught and embarassed, wanting to hide himself into a deep hole. Umbra looked happy at the result, but Anwalt's mood went completely sour. Umbra: And with this, the problem's solved. I'll make sure you both behave while we're around our group. Anwalt: ... Umbra, stay away from me or else I'll throw you out from the window. Umbra: Why are you mad about this? He's going to cooperate now. Isn't that good? Anwalt: Use your genius brain to figure out, asshole. Umbra: Getting sensitive over that? Come on, that wasn't even that bad- Anwalt: Lucent, are you done over there? Lucent: A-Almost. You all... can put your bags over the trays and... just wait for a little more. Anwalt: Alright then. I'm putting our bags. He put his and Lucent's bags on the tray, as they went forward for danger detection and packing. Lucent: I'm done over here... you all can pass now.
  13. Umbra: No one pretty much cares for our noise. This whole place is bustling with talkative tourists after all. Anwalt: Pretty sure any noise we're making is blending with the rest. Umbra and Anwalt followed LightFlare and Melina. As for the talk, he decided to leave it at the ship, with everyone reunited. Umbra: Our talk witll continue on the ship. There's something I need to do in regards to Lord Lucent's brat attitude. Anwalt: ... You don't plan to embarass Lucent in front of a lot of people, do you? Umbra: To be humble, one should go through a really harsh experience. So yeah, I'm embarassing him and I'll make him cry if I have to make him cooperate with us. Anwalt: Weren't you who told us not to mind that he's being like this? Why are you taking matters into your own accounts? Umbra: First, I'm not human. Second, because I want to. Also, it has been a long time since I saw Lord Lucent being embarassed, desperate or something of the sort. Since I already had my fun playing around with you, I'm playing with him now. Anwalt: Can't we just talk this out with him instead? Pretty sure Lucent's mature enough for us to chat- Umbra: He had the chance. He wasted it. If the easy way isn't working, the pain will. Now, let's get going or else he's going to whine. Umbra went a little more faster, grinning. He already had something in mind and couldn't wait to do it. Anwalt sighed hardly, not liking the thought of it one bit. Anwalt: *sigh* I don't actually care for what he says about me, but I don't need him doing these sorts of stuffs to Lucent...
  14. Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport As Melina did her "offer" to Anwalt, Umbra didn't lose a chance to jump in and comment once again. Umbra: Oh, so she's not only our ally, but the next girl to trick Lord Anwalt and make him lose a wallet! How come no one told me that? Anwalt: Will you shut the hell up for once?! Umbra: Wait, I haven't finished speaking. Hey, Miss Melina, when you take away Lord Anwalt's money, can you take some photos of his face and send them to me? I don't have pics of the face at the actual moment, only at the aftermaths. Anwalt: *crackles fist* I'm seriously considering to kill you with my fists right now. Umbra: Ooh, scary. Come on, tough boy, show me what you got. He was about to punch him, but Raina interrupting by asking about Umbra. The question left Anwalt confused. Wasn't Raina with them when Lucent first introduced Umbra? DId she get distracted at that moment and didn't pay attention? Anwalt: Wait, weren't you with us when Lucent introduced Umbra? Umbra: She was distracted. Even if she wasn't, I don't mind. Anyway, I'm Umbra, General of the Vestal Guard. Pleased to meet you, Miss Raina. Anwalt: And he's... sort of a friend. Not one that I'm entirely happy to have sometimes. Umbra: We just like to do these little bickerings with each other. I mean, isn't it funny when you drive someone to their limits until they begin to bark at you like some sort of mad puppy? Anwalt: No, it isn't. No one shares your twisted vision of fun, Umbra. Umbra: Is that so? Heh, you guys don't know what you're losing. In any case, why are you all together like this? Lord Lucent gave me a little rundown, but not too much. Anwalt: Alright, I'll explain. Anwalt gave Umbra a rundown of what happened ever since the beginning. He tried to be as concise as possible for not dragging the explanation for too long. Anwalt: ... And that's what happened so far. Umbra: Interesting. People pulled against their will, people who live here, people on a trip and one single person with an actual plan. I can already feel this advernture is going to be wonderful. Anwalt: Well, exploring other worlds is fun, right? I've never went into these sorts of trips! Umbra: Ugh. Sarcasm. Do you get that concept? Do I need to teach you how to actually notice sarcastic comments? Anwalt: ... Yeah, I think you do. Umbra: *sigh* OK, let me explain. By the looks of it, none of you have any idea of what you're doing. Sure, Miss Lilith's goal was to go there, but what about YOUR goals? Going aimlessly from world to world to find any sort of clue? Anwalt: We're on a trip, Umbra. I don't guess neither me, Lucent or even you need to plan everything from the start. We can have some spontaneous fun! Umbra: Yeah, sure, whatever. You and Lord Lucent are two lost causes, anyway. But what about the rest of you? You're just tagging along for the sake of it or do you have anything in mind as a reason? Meanwhile, Lucent waited on the line. big as it was, it moved pretty fast. He was already getting closer to the item check and the bag deposit as he looked at the clock. Lucent: I wonder if they finished what they're doing. I hope nothing bad happened or else we'll lose the ship. Lucent: (Also, I have the feeling that Umbra just badmouthed me, for no reason. He loves to do that anyway, so I'm letting it pass.)
  15. Umbra: Heh, those two can't function well if I'm not around. Like Lord Lucent said, I'm their mentor. In more ways than one. Anwalt: I don't need you around me! I'm the boss of a yakuza gang! Besides, who would ever need you, you sadistic piece of shit?! Umbra: Really? Then maybe I should tell Lord Lucent and see what he has to say, hmm? Anwalt: ... Umbra: What, thinking on taking that comment back? Anwalt: S-Shut up, I don't have anything to take back. Umbra: Oh, sure you don't. Anyway, since I'm travelling with you all right now, I'll say beforehand that you all can count on my services for as long as we travel together. Anwalt: Just don't expect Umbra to be subservient that much. He ain't the type to listen and blindly follow what you have to say. Umbra: That's also true. My main task is to protect the Vestal, a.k.a your "wallet", and I'll fulfill that to the very end before anything else. Anwalt: Uh, what was with that tone of voice for that part? Umbra: I'll leave that to your brains. Hopefully it'll figure it out on time and you won't die thinking. Anwalt: Stop calling me dumb already!! Umbra: Haha! You get angry at the slightest offense I say at you! That's gold, keep it up! Anwalt: I repeat what I said: sadistic piece of shit, through and through!
  16. Anwalt Vermillion and Umbra Anwalt: Heh, thanks. The training was hell indeed. I don't tend to lose my cool too much, except on some cases. For example, servants who don't obey. Umbra: If you think I'm bothered, that hardly affects me, so joke's on you. Anwalt: Tch. Little pest... Umbra: Heh. Anyway, Sir LightFlare, was it? Thanks for doing the "messenger" job and also for not hiding that you're somewhat bothered with all of this. Anwalt: Do you blame him? He's my brother, but even I can say he's acting like a brat. Umbra: Do I sound like I'm defending Lord Lucent's actions? Your ears and your brain need some fixing. Anwalt: Hey, shut it with the insults, wolfboy! Umbra: In any case, I assure you he means no harm... even though he might sound a little twisted and spoke things about "inducing Nightmares on you if you try something funny" against me or Lord Anwalt. Anwalt: Did he seriously say something like that? I'm beating him up once we board- Umbra: Calm down or I'll beat YOU up. It's already a plus if he convinced himself to give a chance at all. We don't need to cause turmoil, especially if we're going to travel as a group from now on. Let's just try to keep our acts together. Umbra: Lord Lucent will come to full terms with it eventually. For now, let's not take him as a bad person. After all, getting bothered over a kid's whim is pretty petty for human adults like you all are. Anwalt: You know, you could at least sugarcoat the words a bit there. Umbra: I don't like that, so I'll say it how I like to say it. If you are being petty and childish, I'm telling you that and I'm not using sweet words to make it less painful. Umbra: Oh, and he has no problems with money, Miss Melina. Believe me, Lord Anwalt's gambling problems are far more concerning than Lord Lucent's expensive shopping. Anwalt: I haven't lost that much money at gambling, asshat! Umbra: Says the guy who lost almost 3 million gold at blackjack once. Hahahahaha! Oh, the utterly defeated face you made when you came back home was hilarious! And a 17-year old kid had to console the crying grown-up loser! I wish I had photos to show them!
  17. Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport Umbra: Yeah, about the sitting part, we won't exactly need to do that. Anwalt: Why not? Umbra: The class Lord Lucent bought for us is the high class, exactly that airship #13 that was announced. They don't have seats. At least, not the ones you're used to. Anwalt: Really? But is it that unnatural for it to not have seats? Umbra: Look outside. That tells you a lot. From the windows of the airport, they could see an enormous ship arriving. It landed on the field slowly, without too much problems. The entrance and exit, located on the ship's tail, opened as a lot of passengers went down. Anwalt: Whoa, that's enormous! It's like a flying house! Umbra: That's... kind of what it is. According to Lord Lucent, it'll take a while for us to arrive at Candor, even if we go through the air, so he bought us a trip into a literal flying house. Anwalt: I think he gets things too over the top sometimes. Something a little simple wouldn't hurt every once in a while. Umbra: We both know how Lord Lucent is. There are tunes I worry about this somewhat altruistic spirit he has... Talking about the one who bought the flight, he was surprised as well. Just like with the hotel, Lucent didn't think it would be something... big as the airship in their front was. Lucent: OK, I... wasn't expecting it to be this gigantic. I thought it'd be a normal airship, but I should've expected something different from the high class. Lucent: I'm going ahead to the boarding site in order to save our places on the line and because of our tickets. Tell the others that I'm there and for them to be quick! Lucent held his bag tight and ran to the boarding site. He somewhat expected the line to be really big, so it was necessary to guarantee they wouldn't take long.
  18. Lucent Vermillion Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport Lucent: To be honest, we haven't planned anything. It was really sudden for me as well. Anwalt had the idea, so I thought he had everything ready, but he didn't. Lucent: Still, the reason why we came to this world is a family trip. After what happened back home, Anwalt wanted to pass some time with me, as to compensate for the years we were apart. I kind of wanted this too, so I wouldn't refuse. As Lucent spoke, an announcement rang throughout the airport. "Attention all passengers. Due to circumstances, the flights to Candor City will occur a little earlier than what has been planned. For now, all passengers of the high class airship #13 must be on the boarding site. The boarding will be liberated in the next 45 minutes." Lucent: Airship #13? That's our flight! I hope the message reached the shopping center.
  19. Lucent Vermillion Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport Lucent: Dark powers aren't what bother me. I have both light and darkness inside me as well. It's their usage, like you said. I still don't agree with the fact you used it unnecessarily against Hyde in that match and it's far from me accepting that as respect between fighters. I find it an overstatement to the fact that you are powerful compared to him. Lucent: Still, I will comply and let this event go as past waters. However, I don't want to relive the solitude I felt and no one will make me, enemy or ally. So if you try these same tricks against Anwalt or Umbra, I will drown you in the most cruel nightmare I can create until your soul lost its complete spirit to live. Lucent agreed with the handshake and responded it. After knowing LightFlare's story and seeing what he went through, it woudln't be fair of Lucent to hold a petty grudge against an event. The warnings were given though, so he would be sure to have his family out of dangerous range. At the end of it, however, Lucent smiled somehow. Lucent: And please, while we're together, take your time and rest well. We're companions of this quest and I plan to have you and the others to enjoy the trip, even though not all of them are here to have fun.
  20. Anwalt Vermillion and Umbra Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport The girls seemed to be enjoying themselves in this shopping spree for the next hours until the ship arrives. Outside of the store and watching them, Anwalt and Umbra somehow started talking with each other... or rather, arguing. Anwalt: Not gonna buy anything? Umbra: Why would I need to buy anything? I don't feel the needs that humans feel. Anwalt: ... Umbra: You can get angry as much as you want, I'm not leaving. Anwalt: Shut up and don't speak about it. I'm trying to ignore it. Umbra: Are you now? Anwalt: ... You want me to be pissed at you or what? Umbra: Seeing you acting like a rabid dog after having your scenario ruined is really fun for me, so keep on with the anger. Anwalt: Seriously, sometimes I wonder if you're loyal or if you enjoy watching others being hurt. Umbra: I'd say both. I'm loyal to Lord Lucent and to you, of course, but I can still have my fun at watching you two slip over and have life punching you at your faces. Anwalt: The loyal part was a good thing to hear. If you're that loyal, then pick an airship and get back home. Umbra: Get on your knees and beg. Maybe then I'll consider it a bit. Oh, before that, let me get the camera. Anwalt: What?! Hell no, I'm not begging anything! Umbra: Darn it, I was hoping to get some good photos of you begging just so I can send over back home and post them online... Anwalt: ... You're lucky I'm holding myself back and trying to contain my hand from pummeling you hard in the ground until you descend to hell. Umbra: Let's try and have some fun. I mean, we're on a trip so why not. I just hope I can get to use my equipment soon. Anwalt: What equipment, Umbra? Umbra: You know, the usual torturing stuff... like those iron maidens... Anwalt: OK, OK, that's enough, I don't want to hear the rest. That's really creepy. Umbra shrugged, as for him everything he said was pretty normal. He looked to the other side, expectling Lucent and LightFlare to appear and rejoin them. Umbra: I wonder if Lord Lucent will take too long speaking with LightFlare... I'm pretty sure he wants to buy some souvenirs for everyone back at home. Hopefully they're already coming our way. Anwalt: What I hope is that they got to some consensus and will try to become friends.
  21. Lucent Vermillion Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport He heard LightFlare's story, finally understanding the origin of his dark power. By hearing that Anwalt had shared his backstory with the others, Lucent had no chance to hiding it, since it was something he never liked about himself: his past. Lucent: I see. So he told you his part of the backstory concerning us both. Well then, before we can continue on the why I created some distance, I'll tell my part of the story. I don't want to leave this incomplete, as much as I don't want to share my past at all. Lucent: I may be only a rich kid whose actions may be rather prickly and unreasonable, but I had my share. If it wasn't for the insistence Anwalt and my friends had, I would have never left my room at the orphanage… or I'd end up dead by my own hands, which is even worse. Lucent: That's all I can tell about me now. It might sound like some horror story… but I do wish I was just joking about all this. I'd skip the grotesque details, but my memory wouldn't allow it.
  22. Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport Lucent: ... Of course. I was thinking about it as well, LightFlare. Anwalt: (Oh boy, this doesn't sound fun...) Umbra: Well then, let's go. Lord Lucent, I'll be sure to not let Lord Anwalt next to a gambling machine. Anwalt: Hey, I wasn't going to gamble anyway! Lucent: Alright then. LightFlare, follow me. Lucent and LightFlare went a different way as the others went to the shopping center inside the airport. Lucent: Well, I believe I already know what it is, but let me ask. What is it you wish to talk with me?
  23. Location: Kalos City Interdimensional Airport BGM: Sunshine Airport starts playing again After a good and short walk, the group finally reached the airport. There, Lucent and Umbra were waiting at the entrance, as Anwalt said before. Lucent: Oh, there you all are. You got here quite earlier than what I imagined. Anwalt: We're all ready to depart, Lucent. Let's board on the ship and- Lucent: We still have two hours before the ship arrives for departure. There's no use going to the boarding site now. Anwalt: Oh, OK. Then let's spend time shopping around on the stores! Lucent: Before we can continue, let me introduce Umbra. He's the general of the Vestal Guard back at home and... a sort of mentor, if I'm to put it in some way. Umbra: What's the problem with calling me a servant if I'm exactly that? Lucent: You're more of a family member to me than some sort of butler or guard. Anwalt: Also, an annoying and unobedient one, at that. Should've put you on a leash... Umbra: Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny, Lord Anwalt. You should definitely try the stand-up line of comedy with those jokes. Anwalt: Sure I will... maybe breaking your face apart will be one of those jokes. What do you think? Umbra: Sounds funny. As a follow-up, I can break your spine and twist your neck. Lucent: Oh, even better! I freeze both of you and drop you from the airship if you don't stop arguing like I told you on the phone. Umbra and Anwalt: *gulp* W-We're stopping right now. Umbra: So, what are their names, Lord Lucent? Lucent: The maid is called Lilith, the small girl is called Penelope, the shrine maiden is called Raina, the tall guy is called LightFlare and the woman is called... uh... Anwalt: Her name's Melina. Lucent: I see. I suppose that Hyde left to do something on his own, so he won't be coming with us anymore and now we got an extra ticket left. Anwalt: That's pretty much about it. Also, you don't seem fazed by it. Lucent: He did sound pretty uncomfortable with the idea of leaving Kalos when I asked him yesterday, so it became obvious he didn't want to leave. Well, all we can do is hope that everything ends well on his side. Lucent: Now then, shall we go shopping? I suppose we'll need some change of clothing, especially for Penelope and Raina who arrived here without nothing. Umbra: There are a variety of shops here. Perhaps we can find clothes that belong to your respective worlds.
  24. Anwalt Vermillion Location: Grand Wave Hotel - Reception Lobby BGM: A Life Without Worry still playing Anwalt: Don't worry. I know where the airport is from here so it's totally fine. Also, I still have the map from yesterday so we're not getting lost. Anwalt: Also, I'm pretty sure there are clothing stores in the airport. We might find clothes for Penny and Raina there. Anwalt got up from the sofa and picked up the bags. Taking out the map and his terminal from his pocket, he went towards the door. Anwalt: Alright, let's go. I'm warning Lucent to wait for us at the entrance.
  25. Anwalt Vermillion Location: Grand Wave Hotel BGM: A Life Without Worry Anwalt: Says you. We didn't get practical yet for me to confirm anything, so there's that. Anwalt: Well, if you're planning to teach Penny how to defend herself, I might drop in and help you guys. I do think it's best if we keep training her on something she already knows how to handle, though. After saying it, Anwalt waved a goodbye at both of them and left to the lobby. As he reached it, a crow came flying directly into his shoulder, holding a keycard in his beak. Anwalt: (This has to be Lucent's keycard he forgot to give me since he was so interested on shooing himself away, I was going to break the door and pay it afterwards, but he would be furious at me. Oh well...) He took the elevator and soon reached the rooms. He went on his and Lucent's rooms, picking their bags and left afterwards. Returning to the lobby, he sat at the sofa and waited for the others.
